SIGNS of SPRINGS NOTEBOOK

I guess I'm on a small book thing. Once again I've created a small 3x3 notebook as a hostess gift for the Signs of Spring Swap and once again I've used leftover handmade paper . The cover has been created from leftover fabric paper.

SIGNS OF SPRING ATC SWAP

JOURNAL

I made this tiny 3"x4" journal out of left over painted and stamped red rosin paper. I then embellished the front cover with my leftovers from various projects. The pages are card stock weight paper that resembles chipboard. This will be given as small hostess gift and was a great way to use up more of my stash. It went together fast, because most of the work was already finished.

GRANDMA'S SEWING BOX

I created this rusted Altoids tin and then partially covered the top and base with rust colored painted paper towels. I then covered all of the rust with Golden matte gel medium to prevent the rust from flaking off. Once it dries, it still gives the look of rust without the mess.

Simone from Germany and I had a trade that consisted of a fabric atc, a puzzle piece and a small doll. She also sent along a pink inchie that is just adorable and the first fabric inchie that I have received. I love the doll with the stamped face and she also included some of the fabric she used so I could give it a try. The back of the doll is also made from a rusted fabic that she created. I'm going to have to give that a try. The atc has a crazy quilt base tlhat has been beaded. The puzzle piece is set off with a vintage photo and some glittered and felt like embellishmets.

I've also included a photo of the extra goodies that she included and just saw that I forgot the two most importat elements that were beautiful flat rusted leaves, so I've added them in separate photo.

Valentine Postcards

Someone sent me the ribbon and vintage image in a surprise package. I love both of them. The background is a gesso and watercolor piece of card stock that I had leftover from last year's Valentine project. I decided to put them all together and came up with these cards for the lady who sent me the goodies and another friend.

FUNKY NEEDLE FELTED ART DOLL PINS!

These are some of my art doll pins that I've sold on my Etsy shop. I love making them and they just seem to take on personalities of their own. I actually wanted to put them all in one post, but as usual I was struggling with Blogger. If anybody has that secret............................ The first doll with the lime green hair is actually a charm and not a pin.

Needle Felted Bag

First I wet felted the base of the bag and then needle felted the flowers and leaves. Next I did some free motion embroidery to pop the needle felting. The borders were needle felted on, and then I used the same fiber that I crocheted the strap with and used a button hole stitch to enhance the borders and sew the bag together. I lined it with a hand dyed cotton fabric. It measures approximately 6"w x 9"deep.

Wonder Wallet

These small wallets are slightly larger than a credit card but hold lots of necessities like folded bills, credit cards, drivers license and coins. The way the wallet is constructed actually keep the coins from falling out.

And yet another new art form for me. The flower is my first needle felt project. I don't know what I'll do with it, but I just wanted to see if I could master this craft, so I just drew out a simple pattern and started. The leaf is for a felt leaf swap which will end up being a book. Four more leaves to go, but it's a great project for when you are just sitting and watching TV. More new colors have arrived on my doorstep so hopefully they will liven up my color scheme.

Another Sun Print

This time after the print was dry and heat set, I added silver paint spirals with a rubber sponge stamp and white paint dots using the end of a wooden skewer. These pieces are so much fun to create, but I really need to get busy and think of something to actually make out of the fabric.

Sun Painting On Fabric

I have just learned how to make sun paintings from the blog owner of Ruminations and Reflections I think she used special paint, but I just used watered down acrylic paints. Mine didn't bleach our as white as hers did, but I still like the mottled effect it produced. This was so easy and so much fun to do. I'm showing 2 pictures but it is really one piece of fabric folded and scanned. Thanks so much to the owner of R&R for all of your help. Now to go create something with this fun piece of fabric.
